I am so excited to share a very special project that is beginning to take shape here at Sinfully Soft.
This summer, I am planning to launch a Kickstarter to help fund a small commercial yarn run using beautiful English Angora wool from Betty Chu’s rabbits.
For those who know the Angora world, Betty Chu is a name that carries history, excellence, and deep respect. Her rabbits have been known for extraordinary wool, and her work with English Angoras has touched so many breeders, fiber artists, and Angora lovers over the years.
I have been carefully stockpiling prime wool from Betty’s English Angoras, and I believe it deserves to become something truly special.
Why a Kickstarter?
Creating a commercial yarn run takes a real upfront investment. The wool is already here, but the next step is sending it to the mill so it can be professionally processed and spun into yarn.
The Kickstarter will help cover the cost of that mill run.
In simple terms, this project is a 60-day opportunity for people to support the making of this yarn while also receiving beautiful rewards in return. It is basically helping me sell some wonderful fiber-related goodies now so I can afford to make more beautiful yarn for the future.
What Will the Yarn Be?
The finished yarn will be part of what I am calling the Legacy Collection.
This yarn will be created by Sinfully Soft, using wool from Betty Chu’s English Angora rabbits. I want to be very clear and respectful: Betty is not making the yarn herself. The yarn run will be produced by Sinfully Soft, but the wool itself carries her legacy.
My hope is to create a yarn that honors the rabbits, the wool, and the history behind it.
What Kind of Rewards Will Be Offered?
The Kickstarter will include a variety of rewards, including items I already have on hand and special limited offerings created just for this campaign.
Planned rewards may include:
Sinfully Soft DK yarn from my existing stash
Special fall-dyed DK yarn
Hand-carded Angora blend rovings'
Exclusive English Angora perma-stickers
Exclusive English Angora Bookmarks
Exclusive English Angora Comfort Color T-shirts
Limited bundles and fiber surprises
First access to the Betty Chu Legacy Collection yarn once it is made
The rovings' will be especially fun. All roving rewards will contain approximately 50% Angora, with the other fibers being a surprise blend. Most of the additional fibers will be natural fibers such as alpaca, homegrown merino, llama, or other lovely fiber treasures from my stash.
Every blend will be created with softness, beauty, and fiber joy in mind.
About the Sinfully Soft Yarn Rewards
Before the Kickstarter officially launches, I will have the exact Sinfully Soft yarns listed, including colorways and available quantities.
Those yarns will be set aside specifically for Kickstarter backers so I can make sure the limited quantities are protected and available for the rewards promised.

Why This Project Matters
This project is not just about making yarn.
It is about honoring beautiful Angora wool.
It is about preserving a small piece of Angora history.
It is about taking wool that has already been lovingly grown, harvested, and saved, and turning it into something that fiber artists can hold, use, wear, and treasure.
Angora wool is precious. English Angora wool is especially soft and luxurious. When it comes from rabbits connected to someone as respected as Betty Chu, it becomes even more meaningful.
This yarn run feels like a way to turn that legacy into something tangible.
When Will the Kickstarter Launch?
The current goal is to launch the Kickstarter in mid-July 2026.
Before launch, I will continue sharing updates, reward previews, yarn details, and behind-the-scenes progress.
The Kickstarter itself will be a limited-time opportunity. Once the campaign closes, I will know exactly how much yarn I can afford to have made and how many rewards I need to prepare.
