Full Steam Ahead: Chocolate Agouti Giant Angora COD Approved

I have exciting news for our Colored Giant Angora Village. Our Chocolate Agouti Giant Angora Certificate of Development application has been approved!
Holy cannoli, it feels wonderful to finally say those words.
This approval gives us the go-ahead to continue the official COD journey for Chocolate Agouti Giant Angoras. It is an important milestone, and it represents many years of patient work, shared knowledge, and cooperation among breeders.
What the approval means
The approval does not mean that Chocolate Agouti is already a fully recognized Giant Angora variety. There are still important steps ahead. Our first official COD presentation is planned for 2028.
For now, we are full steam ahead toward a special exhibit at the 2026 ARBA Convention in Reno, Nevada, held October 24 through 28. Our village is preparing 12 Chocolate Agouti Giant Angoras for the exhibit.

Building on the Chestnut foundation
Our recognized Chestnut Giant Angoras helped lay the foundation for this project. The work continues as breeders focus on the qualities that make a strong Giant Angora, including body, wool density, three-wool structure, ring definition, and beautiful Chocolate Agouti color.
Progress like this does not happen overnight. Every generation teaches us something. Every rabbit helps us understand where the program is strong and where we need to keep improving.
It takes a village
This project has never belonged to just one person. It has taken a village of breeders willing to share knowledge, genetics, encouragement, and a very big dream.
That community spirit matters. Developing a variety requires patience and consistency, but it also requires people who are willing to work together for something larger than any one rabbitry.
I am deeply thankful for everyone who has contributed to the Chocolate Agouti project and helped us reach this milestone. There is still plenty of work ahead, but today we can celebrate how far we have come.
Boy howdy, I cannot wait to see these beautiful rabbits together in Reno.
