The new COD rules changed everything—but only if we act

I sat down and really studied the new ARBA Standard of Perfection, focusing on the updated COD rules—and I had one overwhelming reaction:
Why is no one moving yet?
Yes, there’s been talk.
Yes, there have been whispers.
But talk doesn’t build rabbits.
Action does.
This new COD structure shifts the entire playing field.
It removes barriers. It opens pathways. It makes progress possible in a way we haven’t seen before.
But here’s the part that matters most… None of it matters if we hesitate. I am not hesitating. I am moving forward with the Chocolate Agouti Giant Angora COD, my Plan A;
Application goes in May 2026.
Exhibit in Reno 2026.
First presentation in Louisville 2028.
That clock is already ticking. And I need to be very clear about something… This is NOT a spectator sport. This is NOT five people quietly working behind the scenes. This is a moment where a breed either evolves—or stalls.
I am asking you to step in. Not perfectly. Not with everything figured out. Just step in.
Start breeding with intention.
Start paying attention.
Start being part of something bigger than your own barn.
Because here’s what I’m building toward:
Convention 2028, I want 100 Chocolate Agouti Giant Angoras in attendance, with a minimum 2” coat ready to present in the COD. And that number only happens if individuals decide to stop waiting for someone else to do it. Ya think I am crazy, and you’d be right. This is not just a fantasy; it’s a dream that CAN come true.
I will bring what I can, ideally 25. But I am not carrying this alone. And I don’t want to. Because the future of Giant Angoras should not belong to me or to a handful of names.
It should belong to all of us.
There is also space—right now—for someone to step up with Lynx. With Opal. Those spots are not taken. Those futures are not claimed. Someone needs to decide that they are the one.
Maybe that someone is you.
You don’t need permission.
You don’t need perfect timing.
You need to move.
Because three years will go by whether you act or not.
The difference is… Will you be part of what we built? Or will you be looking at it, wishing you had started? This is the moment. Don’t let it pass you by.
