Treating Minor Eye Issues
There is something so special about that 10-week mark.
It is right about the time when you can really start to see who these babies are going to become. Not fully there yet, not finished, but enough little clues start showing up that make you pause and go… oh yes, this one is going to be something.
Today was one of those days.
I evaluated Miss Twinkle and Mr Ravishing’s litter, and this time it is a tiny but mighty group. Just two baby bucks, one black and one chestnut, and both of them are looking absolutely beautiful.
If you want to see these boys up close and follow along with my full evaluation, you can watch the video here;
And as always… we are all learning together.
Miss Twinkle continues to impress me as a mother. She is my black F2 Giant/French cross, and every time she raises a litter, I am reminded why I love her so much. Her babies come out with rich, clean color. No stray white hairs, no odd spotting, just smooth, consistent coats that make you smile the moment you see them. That kind of consistency is not an accident. It is years of thoughtful breeding coming together in these quiet little moments.
Now let’s talk honestly for a second.
As much as I adore these boys, I would love to see just a touch more Giant furnishings coming in. That is always part of the balancing act when working with these lines. You don’t always get everything all at once.
But here is the exciting part… these boys are going to be incredible woolers.
And that matters.
Because at the end of the day, when you are working with Angoras, that fiber is everything. The softness, the density, the way it grows and handles… that is where these two are really starting to shine.
So while they may not check every single “show type” box right now, they are absolutely checking the “future fiber producer” box in a big way.
And honestly, sometimes those are the rabbits that bring the most long-term value to a program.
While I was in the barn today, we also had a very exciting little milestone.
Mr Sexy Dark Night had his very first haircut.
There is just something about that first harvest. It only happens once in a lifetime, and that baby coat is incredibly special. Soft, fine, and full of potential.
If you have ever wanted to get your hands on true baby Angora fiber, this is the time.
Moments like this are why I share these evaluations with you.
It is not just about picking the “best” rabbit. It is about learning to see the story each one is telling. Where they came from, what they are showing you now, and what they might become with time.
Treating Minor Eye Issues

Quick correction from the video. I mentioned that Terramycin could be purchased at the feed store, but that is no longer the case. It now requires a veterinarian’s prescription. Note: I use it very sparingly, only if the Eye Spray noted below doesn't work

I just love Vetericyn Pink Eye Spray. At the first sign of eye irritation, I apply it a couple times a day for 2–3 days. In my experience, it often clears up minor weepy eyes very quickly. Yes, as of today.... you can still buy it directly at your local feed store.
Stay Fluffy My Friends,
Tammy,
