There are weekends that remind you why you started. This was one of those.

I came home tired, a little behind on a few things, and still smiling. That’s always a good sign.
The show itself was just plain fun. I got to talk with so many people, share ideas, laugh a little, and watch some really nice Angoras hit the table. The judges are noticing. Not just one or two animals. The overall quality across all Angoras. That tells me this isn’t a fluke. This is a group effort paying off.
Deidra MacKimmie's French Angora rocked it this weekend. GW'S JOYFUL took 3 Best of Breeds in 3 specialty shows and 1 in open shows C. She also took 2 Best in Specialty Show wins in 2 BAARG Angora specialties and 1 BISS in the Wool Breed show. This was only her 2nd time going to a show and she really came to shine. So impressed with her quality, incredibly beautiful girl.

Now, I did miss the judges conference. That one stung a bit. I don’t like missing those moments. But I’ve been doing this long enough to know you don’t sit there and stew. You take a breath, adjust, and keep moving. Plan B gets the job done more often than people think.
What stuck with me most wasn’t a ribbon or a placing. It was how our BAARG group handled a few hiccups. We had some moments that could have turned into something bigger. You’ve all seen it before. Shows can get tense. People care, emotions run high, and things can go sideways fast if no one checks themselves. That didn’t happen here.
We slowed down. We listened. We actually heard each other. We worked through it and moved on. No drama. No lingering tension. Just back to enjoying the show and the rabbits.
That Kindness Crew mindset isn’t just a cute idea. It works. I’m proud of this group.

Then I got home and picked up the clippers.
Mr Love Shack was up next. Nearly a year old now, and still very much in that curious, busy stage. He’s sweet. He’s nosey. He wants to see everything. What he does not want is to sit still for a haircut. So, we worked through it. A little at a time. Not perfect, not polished, but real life. That’s what most of this looks like anyway.
I also keep thinking about our new members. We’ve had more people joining, which is exciting. It also means we need to be better about how we bring them in. It’s easy to lose track when things get busy and everyone is having a good time.
That’s on my list now. If you’ve ever joined something and felt a little lost at the start, you know why this matters. If you’ve got ideas, I’m listening.
And I have to say this. Hope’s hand felted Angora piece was beautiful. She earned that win and that HUGE ribbon in the Arts & Crafts Contest. I’m already nudging her toward the WSG at Nationals. It deserves to be seen.
If you want to see all of this play out, including Mr Love Shack’s strong opinions about haircuts, watch the video. It’s all there, just as it happened.
